JOHANNESBURG, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Three people were killed when a parking lot wall at a South African shopping mall collapsed on top of a vehicle, emergency officials said on Saturday.

"The car was crushed to the extent ... that it was almost at knee-level," Mark Stokoe, a spokesman for Netcare 911 emergency services, said.

"They (rescue workers) couldn't even tell what car it was."

A six-month-old travelling in the car sustained minor injuries while a 13-year-old passenger was seriously hurt, he said.

Local media reported that rescue workers were still looking for more people trapped under the rubble at the Carnival City mall in Brakpan, about 30km (18 miles) outside Johannesburg. Stokoe said he was unaware if there were more victims. (Reporting by Gershwin Wanneburg, Editing by Matthew Jones)
