Janus appoints 3 new directors to board

BOSTON, March 11 (Reuters) - U.S. money manager Janus Capital Group (JNS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Tuesday it had expanded its board of directors to 14 by appointing three new directors.

Janus said in a statement its board elected Timothy Armour, a former managing director at research firm Morningstar Inc (MORN.O: Quote, Profile, Research); Jeffrey Diermeier, president and chief executive of the CFA Institute in Virginia; and Lawrence Kochard, chief investment officer of Georgetown University.

Denver-based Janus said 12 of the 14 directors on the board now are independent directors. Janus had $206.7 billion in assets under management as of end-December. (Reporting by Muralikumar Anantharaman; Editing by Gary Hill)
