TABLE-Japan Jan outstanding bank loans +0.4 pct yr/yr
TOKYO, Feb 8 (Reuters) - The balance of outstanding loans held by most Japanese banks rose 0.4 percent in January from a year earlier, Bank of Japan data showed on Friday. [JPBNK=ECI]
Loans held by the country's four main categories of banks, including "shinkin", or credit unions, stood at 455.4 trillion yen ($4.237 trillion).
Excluding special factors such as loan write-offs, the loan balance rose 1.1 percent from the same month a year earlier.
