TIML says Bennett, Coleman won't buy Trinity Mirror
LONDON, July 25 (Reuters) - Indian media conglomerate Bennett, Coleman & Co has no interest in buying British newspaper group Trinity Mirror (TNI.L: Quote, Profile, Research), a spokeswoman for Bennett, Coleman's UK subsidiary TIML said on Friday.
"There is no truth in the rumours," the TIML Golden Square Ltd spokeswoman said after market talk of bid interest from Bennett, Coleman lifted Trinity Mirror stock earlier this week.
Bennett, Coleman publishes the Times of India newspaper and bought Virgin Radio Holdings Ltd in the UK through wholly owned subsidiary TIML last month.
Trinity Mirror, which has been hit by a sharp drop in print advertising budgets, warned on profits at the end of June. Its market capitalisation is 238 million pounds ($472 million). (Reporting by Georgina Prodhan; Editing by Rory Channing)
