India fields resumed oil, gas output on Sat-source
NEW DELHI, July 7 (Reuters) - Production from India's Panna-Mukta oil and gas fields resumed on Saturday with output of 18,000 barrels a day of oil and 2.5 million standard cubic metres a day of gas, a source at a company with a stake in the fields said.
Panna-Mukta, a joint venture of Reliance Industries (RELI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), the Indian unit of the BG Group (BG.L: Quote, Profile, Research) and state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), was shut after an explosion at a processing platform on June 3.
"By the third week of July, we should be ready with a heater to dehydrate the gas, and by July 24-25, normal operations will be resumed," the source added.
The field, which was shut for maintenance when the explosion took place, normally produces 40,000 bpd of oil, about 6 percent of India's total domestic output, and about 5.5 mmscmd of gas. (Reporting by Nidhi Verma; Editing by Mark Williams)
