Malaysia Petronas in Uzbekistan oil-production deal

KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Reuters) - Malaysian state oil firm Petronas [PETR.UL] has signed a production-sharing agreement for a group of fields and a heads of agreement for a gas-to-liquid (GTL) project in Uzbekistan, the company said on Wednesday.

It signed the production-sharing contract for the Urga, Kuanish and Akhchalak fields, which are located in the Uzbek northern region of Ustyurt.

Petronas Carigali Overseas Sdn Bhd holds 100 percent interest for the development and production of the fields, it said in a statement.
