HIGHLIGHTS-Euro zone finance ministers' meeting
BRUSSELS, May 13 (Reuters) - The following are comments by euro zone finance ministers and other officials in connection with their meeting on Tuesday in Brussels.
EUROGROUP CHAIRMAN JEAN-CLAUDE JUNCKER
On "excessive" executive pay:
"We still believe that the excesses of captains of industry that we have seen in several countries, in several sectors in the euro area, are really quite scandalous. We are continuing to examine how something can be done in terms of professional ethics, in terms of taxation, to combat these excesses."
"At the same time we are aware of the huge gap between our continued appeals for wage restraint and the continued existence of these excesses by certain captains of industry."
EU MONETARY AFFAIRS COMMISSIONER JOAQUIN ALMUNIA
On mood in financial markets:
"It's good to listen to people coming from the financial sector to appear more optimistic than they were a couple of months ago."
