LONDON, May 12 (Reuters) - Spanish utility Union Fenosa (UNF.MC: Quote, Profile, Research) has been studying many possible investments, including coal and renewables, but has no nuclear expansion plans, its chairman Pedro Lopez Jimenez said on Monday.
Spain's third-largest utility has about 9 billion euros ($13.9 billion) to invest under its business plan for 2007 through 2011, but has lost interest in British nuclear power generator British Energy Plc (BGY.L: Quote, Profile, Research) as its share price has surged and is focusing on other energy assets.
"We are systematically searching for and analyzing possibilities ... We have analysed in the last 18 months 100 projects or companies for investment," he said in an interview. Continued...
