Valero reports L.A. refinery unit shutdown-state

DENVER, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp's (VLO.N: Quote, Profile, Research) 135,000 barrel per day (bpd) Los Angeles-area refinery in Wilmington, California, reported a unit shutdown on Friday afternoon, according to notices filed with state pollution regulators.

The unit shutdown triggered a release of an unknown amount of sulfur dioxide, according to the notices.

A Valero representative was not immediately available to discuss refinery operations.
