US West Coast - ANS climbs on expected demand
HOUSTON, April 7 (Reuters) - Alaska North Slope crude ASW- ascended $2.65 a barrel as expected increased demand for distillates pushed U.S. crude futures and cash prices higher, traders said on Monday.
ANS finished in a bid-offer spread of $108.75/$108.85 per barrel.
California crude buyers lifted prices by $2.65 per barrel on Monday.
ANS last sold Feb. 26 even with WTI in a deal for 300,000 barrels for May delivery.
Trade in ANS is limited as most producers either sell the oil under term contracts or take the crude into their own West Coast refining systems. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by David Gregorio)
