Valero cat crackers running at 73 pct of capacity

NEW YORK, March 24 (Reuters) - U.S. refiner Valero Energy Corp (VLO.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Monday it was running its fluid catalytic crackers at 73 percent of its capacity due to weak margins for gasoline production.

The company said in a slide presentation to investors that the crackers, which produce gasoline, were running 255,000 barrels per day below capacity. (Reporting by Michael Erman)
