Chevron says Gorgon project gets government approval
SYDNEY, Oct 10 (Reuters) - U.S. energy major Chevron Corp (CVX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday the Australian government has issued the final environmental approvals for the massive Gorgon liquefied natural gas (LNG) project off the nation's western coast, paving the way for a final investment decision.
Chevron is the operator of the project and holds a 50 percent stake. Exxon Mobil (XOM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and Shell (RDSa.L: Quote, Profile, Research) each have 25 percent.
