CHC Helicopter profit up on capacity, lower costs
CALGARY, Alberta, Dec 11 (Reuters) - CHC Helicopter Corp's FLYa.TO second-quarter profit rose 28 percent as the company added to its aircraft and reduced costs, it said on Tuesday.
CHC, whose helicopters serve the offshore energy industry, earned C$11.4 million ($11.3 million), or 25 Canadian cents a share, in the quarter ended Oct. 31. That was up from year-earlier C$8.9 million, or 19 Canadian cents a share.
