THE STRAITS TIMES

- A crowd of 4,000 visitors bade farewell to Singapore's most famous orang utan Ah Meng who died on Friday. She died in her enclosure after a breakfast of fruits. She was 48 years old, or 95 in human years.

BUSINESS TIMES

- Cityspring Infrastructure Trust CITY.SI is seeking a mandate from its shareholders to raise S$370 million ($261 million) in equity capital, but may not do so if market conditions remain poor, chief executive Fai Au Yeung said in an interview.

- The hourly wage cost for Singapore production workers rose 17.1 percent to $8.55 in 2006, the second-highest increase in 33 countries after Brazil's 17.8 percent, according to the U.S. Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics.
