SHANGHAI, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Valin Steel Tube & Wire Co 000932.SZ, one-third owned by ArcelorMittal (MT.N: Quote, Profile, Research)(ISPA.AS: Quote, Profile, Research), said on Tuesday that it lost about 410,000 tonnes of steel production during power outages in Hunan province.

Severe snow and ice storms early this month led to power outages across cental and southern China including in Hunan, a major centre for Chinese metal production. The storms forced the temporary closure of several production facilities, including those of the country's largest zinc producer, Zhuzhou Smelter Group Co (600961.SS: Quote, Profile, Research).

Valin said the power supply in the province had resumed and it had restored operations at all its facilities. The company said it will still try to meet its annual production target. (Reporting by Alfred Cang, editing by Ken Wills)
