Russia's Uralsvyazinform earnings triple in 2007

YEKATERINBURG, Russia, July 9 (Reuters) - Russian fixed-line telecom operator in the Ural mountains area, Uralsvyazinform (URSI.MM: Quote, Profile, Research), said on Wednesday its 2007 net profit more than tripled to 2.297 billion roubles ($97.74 million).

Revenue rose 15.6 percent to 39.1 billion roubles. The results are calculated to International Financial Reporting Standards.

Uralsvyazinform is controlled by national telecoms group Svyazinvest, which holds 51.4 percent of its voting stock. (Reporting by Natalya Shurmina; Writing by Maria Kiselyova; editing by Sue Thomas)
