LONDON Jan 5 Britain will set up body scanners
at London's Heathrow Airport within three weeks to try to
improve aviation security after a Nigerian man was accused of
trying to blow up a U.S.-bound passenger jet, the government
said on Tuesday.
"The first scanners will be deployed in around three weeks
at Heathrow," interior minister Alan Johnson told parliament.
"Over time they will be introduced more widely."
Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23, is accused of trying to
ignite an explosive called PETN using a chemical-filled syringe
as Northwest Flight 253 from Amsterdam approached Detroit on
