Orbitz sees pockets of U.S. travel softness
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Online travel agency Orbitz Worldwide Inc (OWW.N: Quote, Profile, Research) is seeing pockets of softness in U.S. travel markets but no dramatic falloff so far, its chief executive said on Monday.
Suppliers have been asking for help with inventory, such as advertising, Chief Executive Steve Barnhart told the Reuters Travel and Leisure Summit in Los Angeles.
"It certainly indicates there is some softness there," he said.
A dramatic softening in travel likely would affect Orbitz' overall business. "We're not seeing that yet," he added.
