Sweden says to raise carbon dioxide taxes

STOCKHOLM, Feb 5 (Reuters) - The Swedish government said on Thursday it planned to raise carbon dioxide taxes to help meet a target for a 40 percent cut in harmful emissions.

“To reach the target the government will present proposals on developed economic steering measures, among other things A raised carbon dioxide tax,” it said in a statement.
