MOSCOW Oct 5 World number one Justine Henin has
pulled out of next week's Kremlin Cup with a shoulder injury.
"We were told Henin had suffered some injury to her shoulder
and although she is still playing this week, she would not play
the following week as she wants to have some rest," Kremlin Cup
executive director Alexander Katsnelson told Reuters on Friday.
The Belgian is competing at the Stuttgart Grand Prix this
week. On Friday she beat Russian Elena Dementieva 6-4 6-4 to
reach the semi-finals.
World number two Svetlana Kuznetsova has replaced Henin as
top seed in Moscow.
Three former world number ones, Maria Sharapova, Serena
Williams and Marat Safin, have received wildcards for the
combined men's and women's tournament starting on Monday.
