Terry should be fit for Moscow after arm injury

LONDON (Reuters) - Chelsea captain John Terry said he should be fit to face Manchester United in the Champions League final after he was carried off on a stretcher in his team's final Premier League game on Sunday.

The England defender collided with his own keeper Petr Cech and Bolton's Kevin Davies inside the opening 15 minutes and was taken off with an elbow injury. Terry returned to lead his team on a lap of honour and said he had no broken bones.

Chelsea drew 1-1 with Bolton to finish second to Manchester United in the Premier League. They meet United in the Champions League final in Moscow on May 21.

Terry led his toddler twin children and the rest of the team round Stamford Bridge in warm sunshine after the final whistle, his left arm in a sling.

"There's no break, no broken bones," he told the crowd.

Asked by Sky Sports if he would be ready for the Champions League final, Terry said: "I should be - fingers crossed."

Terry's arm had been x-rayed and Chelsea medical sources said they were optimistic he would be fit for the final.

Chelsea started the day needing to better Manchester United's result at Wigan Athletic to win the title. United won 2-0 at Wigan.
