NEW YORK New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he would like Barclays Plc (BARC.L) to move to New York, but he has not offered any tax incentives, saying, "I've always thought it doesn't make sense to buy business."
"I hope they move here. It'd be great for us ... Every day we are in competition. Every day, every city in this country and in this world is trying to get those businesses," Bloomberg told reporters.
Barclays is considering moving its headquarters out of London as the cost of holding more capital threatens to make it less attractive than rival financial centres, people familiar with the matter said.
