LONDON Prince Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy Davy have split after five years of dating, a royal source said on Saturday.
The pair, who had a trial separation in 2007, parted amicably, the source added.
Clarence House, the official residence of Harry's father Prince Charles, said it would not comment on the personal life of the third-in-line to the throne.
The split comes just three weeks after the couple returned from a holiday together in Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, the News of the World reported on its website.
The newspaper reported that Zimbabwe-born Davy, 23, had told friends she could no longer put up with his lifestyle and the time spent apart.
She has returned to university in Leeds while Harry began his helicopter training at the Army Air Corps HQ in Hampshire on Monday, the paper added.
Harry, 24, a lieutenant in the Household Cavalry, served a short spell in Afghanistan last year before a media blackout collapsed.
