Britain says China dissident Liu should have been allowed overseas

LONDON (Reuters) - British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said on Thursday that Chinese Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Liu Xiaobo, who has died of liver cancer, should have been allowed to travel abroad for treatment.

"Liu Xiaobo should have been allowed to choose his own medical treatment overseas, which the Chinese authorities repeatedly denied him," he said in a statement.
