Israel's Livni won't join Netanyahu government

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A senior member of parliament from the Israeli centrist party Kadima said on Friday he did not expect the party and its leader, Tzipi Livni, to join a coalition led by right-winger Benjamin Netanyahu.

Yoel Hasson, who leads Kadima's parliamentary group, told Reuters the party's lawmakers would meet on Sunday: "I imagine the decision will be that we are going into opposition," he said. "We won't enter any government headed by Netanyahu."

Hasson was responding to President Shimon Peres's invitation to Netanyahu to form a government and to Netanyahu's public invitation to Livni to join him in a national unity government.
