COPENHAGEN, May 15 (Reuters) - Aalborg clinched the Danish championship with two matches to go on Thursday, beating Brondby at home 2-0 and opening an insurmountable eight-point lead over last year's champions, FC Copenhagen.

The unheralded western Denmark team won their third championship, taking advantage of Copenhagen's poor run of form late in the season.

Aalborg needed only a draw last weekend at Copenhagen to secure the title, but lost 4-0 to the six-time champions.

They did not miss another opportunity this time, taking advantage of an own goal by Max von Schlebrugge in the 41st minute and sealing the deal with a Kasper Risgard strike just before the break.
