Soccer - Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu is not for sale, president Andrea della Valle told the club website (it.violachannel.tv) after receiving an offer from Serie A rivals AS Roma for the Romania striker.
Cycling - Riccardo Ricco has been called to appear before Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) prosecutors on July 30 after testing positive for EPO on the Tour de France last week, CONI said on its Web site (www.coni.it).
The prosecutors have summoned Leonardo Piepoli, who was sacked by the Saunier Duval team along with Ricco on Friday after the positive test, to meet them the previous day.
Soccer - Finland midfielder Teemu Tainio has joined Sunderland from Tottenham Hotspur on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, the Premier League club said on its website (www.safc.com).
Manager Roy Keane said of the 28-year-old: "...his experience in particular and the fact he has played more than 40 international games shows he has a lot to offer Sunderland". Continued...
