Soccer-Poland slump to home defeat by U.S.
KRAKOW, Poland, March 26 (Reuters) - Euro 2008 finalists Poland slumped to a 3-0 defeat by United States in a friendly on Wednesday.
The Americans took only 12 minutes to go in front, Carlos Bocanegra nodding in a pass from Landon Donovan.
Another header by Oguchi Onyewu from a corner by Donovan made it 2-0 in the 35th.
The Americans continued to outclass Poland in the second half and Eddie Lewis sealed victory with a spectacular 25-metre shot in the 73rd minute.
"What can I say? The second half was somewhat better than the first but we were just not well-prepared," said Poland coach Leo Beenhakker.
