The Glass segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of glass for display use, such as glass for flat panel display (FPD) and cathode-ray tube (CRT), as well as glass for electronic components, such as optics-related glass and other glass for electronic devices. This segment is also engaged in the manufacture and sale of glass fibers, including chopped strands for high-function resin use, print circuit board (PCB) yarns, roving for fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) use and alkali-resistant glass fibers, as well as construction glass, heat-resistant glass, medical glass and glass for lighting use, among others. The Others segment is engaged in the sale of petrochemical products, the manufacture and sale of refractory products, the transportation business and others.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 September 2009, Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd.'s revenues decreased 29% to Y143.94B. The Company's net income decreased 60% to Y13.93B.
