HOYA CORPORATION (HOYA) is a Japan-based company. The Company is a supplier of medical products and services based upon its optics technologies. HOYA is engaged in four businesses: The Eye Care provides eyeglasses, operates retail shops for contact lenses, and makes intraocular lenses for cataract surgery. The Life Care provides endoscopic system. Electro-Optics makes mask blanks and photomasks for the semiconductor devices and liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, optical lenses for digital cameras, and glass memory disks for hard disk drives (HDDs). The Imaging produces single-lens reflex (SLR)/compact digital cameras, interchangeable lenses, lens modules and microlenses. The Company terminated the Crystal Business on March 31, 2009. As the business terminates, HOYA CRYSTAL TOKYO, the Company’s directly-owned retail shop was closed as of May 12, 2009.
