The Bank operates through its subsidiaries. As of July 17, 2009, the Company was organized in six segments: Private Customers, Mittelstandsbank, Central and Eastern Europe, Corporates and Markets, Commercial Real Estate, and Others and consolidation. The Company operates a branch network with a total of 1,540 branches at March 31, 2009. Its German subsidiaries include comdirect bank (comdirect bank), in which COMMERZBANK holds an indirect 80.5% interest, Commerz Real AG (Commerz Real), which is wholly owned, and Eurohypo, another indirect 100% subsidiary. On January 12, 2009, COMMERZBANK acquired from Allianz 92.9% interest in Dresdner Bank.
