Compagnie Maritime Belge SA (Belgische Scheepvaartmaatschappij NV), also known as CMB, is a Belgium-based maritime group. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Bocimar, the Company is engaged in the sea transportation of dry bulk goods, such as coal, iron ores and grains. Its fleet consists of approximately 23 wholly or partially owned vessels and a number of vessels under construction. Through ASL Aviation, CMB has a presence in both the cargo and passenger markets in Europe, focusing on aviation operations, services and leasing activities. As of December 31, 2008, ASL owns 29 aircrafts. The Company’s other activities include amongst others the following Group companies: Reslea (real estate) and Hessenatie Logistics (logistics sector). Further more, the CMB group also has participating interests in the ship manager Angloeastern Management Group (AEMG). CMB currently partially owns one Panamax tanker and has three Aframax tankers on order.
