Criteria CaixaCorp, S.A. is a Spain-based investment group with stakes in financial and industrial companies. It is engaged in two divisions: services (74%) and financial business and insurance (14%). The Company also invests in international banking (12%). The service division will cover holdings in listed companies that operate in services sectors, and in unlisted companies in an advanced phase of the business cycle. The finance and insurance division brings together holdings both in international banks and insurance companies, as well as in unlisted specialist financial companies. Currently, the Company invests inter alia in Energy (Gas Natural, Repsol YPF), Infrastructure (Abertis ), Services/Other (Agbar, Telefonica and BME).

BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, Criteria CaixaCorp S.A.'s total revenue increased 4% to EUR311M. Net income for the period increased 17% to EUR1.14B. Total revenue reflects an increase in demand for the Company's products and services especially in the Insurance business segment. Net income benefited from an increase in equity in affiliates income as well as higher income from sale of affiliates.
