Grupo Gigante SA de CV is a Mexico-based holding company that, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the operation of specialty retail stores, development of real state projects and operation of family restaurants. Its subsidiaries include companies from the Gigante Grupo Inmobiliario, involved in the real state sector; a chain of 85 restaurants controlled by Restaurantes Toks SA de CV, and companies that belong to a hard-discount store chain, SuperPrecio, among others. The Company also has interests in Office Depot de Mexico SA de CV, a chain store of office and school supplies. On December 15, 2008 the Company approved the sale of its stake in Radio Shack de Mexico SA de CV, a distributor of home and office electronic equipment and accessories, to Tandy Corporation.

BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, Grupo Gigante, S.A.B. de C.V.'s total revenue increased 14% to PS6.89B. Net income from continuing operations increased from PS260.7M to PS1.44B. Total revenue reflects an increase in demand for the Company's products and services in Mexico. Net income from continuing operations benefited from lower interest and other financial expenses as well as lower loss on foreign exchange differences.
