Metalurgica Gerdau SA is a Brazil-based holding company engaged in the steel production industry. Its activities involve the production of specialty steels and recycling of steel. The Gerdau Group markets its products to the automobile sector, for the production of domestic appliances and consumer goods and to the construction industry for the production of reinforced concrete. The Company also holds interests in the agricultural sector. It has production plants located in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela, the United States, Canada, Spain and India. The Company holds participations in such subsidiaries as Gerdau GTL Spain SL, Gerdau Steel North America Inc and Gerdau Steel Inc, among others. As of December 2008, the Company acquired Gerdau MacSteel Holdings Inc and Cleary Holdings Corp.
