Hansen Medical, Inc. (Hansen Medical) develops, manufactures and sells generation of medical robotics designed for accurate positioning, manipulation and stable control of catheters and catheter-based technologies. Its Sensei Robotic Catheter System, or Sensei system, is designed to allow physicians to instinctively navigate flexible catheters with greater stability and control in interventional procedures. The Company’s focus is on electrophysiology (EP) procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of patients who suffer from abnormal heart rhythms, or arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation.

BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, Hansen Medical, Inc.'s revenues decreased 17% to $15M. Net loss decreased 3% to $40.7M. Revenues reflect lower sales due to negative impact of general economic & capital market conditions and unfavorable movements in exchange rates. Lower loss was offset by lower cost of goods sold, a decrease in research & development expenses and a fall in stock-based compensation expenses.
