Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. is an integrated designer, engineer, manufacturer, seller and servicer of lift trucks and aftermarket parts. The Company, along with its subsidiaries, NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc., provides lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed under the Hyster and Yale brand names. The Company operates in four segments: the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Nuvera. The Company's lift truck business includes three management units: the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific segments. The Americas segment includes its operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Latin America and its corporate headquarters. The Europe segment includes its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Asia-Pacific segment includes its operations in the Asia-Pacific region, including China. The Company's Nuvera segment is focused on fuel cell stacks and related systems. The Company's Nuvera is also focused on supporting on-site hydrogen production and dispensing systems that can deliver clean energy solutions to customers.
The Company manufactures components, such as frames, masts and transmissions, and assembles lift trucks. The Company offers a line of aftermarket parts to service its installed base of lift trucks in use in the industry. The Company offers online technical reference databases specifying the required aftermarket parts to service lift trucks and an aftermarket parts ordering system. The Company sells Hyster and Yale branded aftermarket parts to dealers for Hyster and Yale lift trucks. The Company also sells aftermarket parts under the UNISOURCE and PREMIER brands to Hyster and Yale dealers for the service of lift trucks.
The Company distributes lift trucks primarily through two channels: independent dealers and a national accounts program. In addition, the Company distributes aftermarket parts and service for its lift trucks through its independent dealers. The Company’s end-users include light and heavy manufacturers, trucking and automotive companies, rental companies, building materials and paper suppliers, lumber, metal products, warehouses, retailers, food distributors, container handling companies, and United States and non-United States Governmental agencies, among others. The Company operates approximately 12 lift truck manufacturing and assembly facilities around the world with approximately five plants in the Americas, three in Europe and four in Asia-Pacific.
