ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Limited (ICO) is mobile satellite service (MSS) operator. The Company is authorized to offer MSS services throughout the United States using a geosynchronous earth orbit (GEO) satellite. The Company is also authorized to integrate an ancillary terrestrial component (ATC) into its MSS system in order to provide integrated satellite and terrestrial services. As of December 31, 2008, the Company was focusing on developing its United States MSS system. The Company has also coordinated the spectrum to enable the operation of a medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite system globally in compliance with regulations promulgated by the United Kingdom and by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an organization within the United Nations system. On April 14, 2008, the Company launched its GEO satellite (ICO G1).
