ING Groep N.V. (ING), is a global financial institution offering banking, investments, life insurance and retirement services. The Company serves more than 85 million private, corporate and institutional customers in Europe, North and Latin America, Asia and Australia. ING has six business lines: Insurance Europe, Insurance Americas, Insurance Asia/Pacific, Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking and ING Direct. In July 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of CitiStreet LLC, a retirement plan and benefit service and administration company in United States. In November 2008, ING Groep N.V. increased its stake in joint venture Billington Holdings PLC from 50% to 100%. In February 2009, the Company announced that it closed the sale of its Taiwanese life insurance business to Fubon Financial Holding Co. Ltd. In April 2009, the Company sold its non-state pension fund business and its holding company in Russia to Aviva plc.
