Investec plc is an international banking group that provides a range of financial products and services. The Company is organized into five business divisions: Private Client Activities, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Asset Management and Property Activities. In addition, its head office provides certain group-wide integrating functions, such as risk management, information technology, finance, investor relations, marketing, human resources and organizational development. It is also responsible for the Company’s central funding, as well as other activities, such as trade finance.

BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 31 March 2009, Investec plc's total interest income increased 25% to £2.6B. Net interest income after loan loss provision decreased 7% to £437.9M. Net income applicable to Common decreased 30% to £244.5M. Interest income reflects an increase in interest. Net income was offset by higher interest expense, increased depreciation, amortisation & impairment of property, equipment & intangibles and lower operating income.
