BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A.'s net interest income decreased 8% to EUR8.07B. Net interest income after loan loss provision decreased 24% to EUR5.43B. Net income from continuing operations decreased 29% to EUR2.64B. Net interest income reflects a decrease in the volume of loans issued. Net income from continuing operations suffered from decreased operating margins due to lower commission income.
