Jazztel PLC (Jazztel) is a United Kingdom-based telecommunications company, which has shares listed on the Spanish Continuous Market (Mercado Continuo) and is subject to the control and supervision of the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). The Company’s activities include the operation of the telephone networks in Spain, as well as the provision of mobile and landline telephony services, pre-paid long distance telephony cards, broadband Internet access, data transmission and on-line backup, call center and voice over Internet protocol and cable television, among others. In addition, the Company’s services and products are oriented towards businesses and individuals. The Company is a parent of Jazztel Group, which comprises Jazz Telecom SA, Banda 26 SA, Jazzplat SA, Jazztel Jazznet Internet Services SL, Jazzcom Limited and Movilweb 21 SA. As of December 31, 2008, the Company was a 20.74%-owned affiliate of Prepsa Traders SA.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, Jazztel PLC's total revenue increased 28% to EUR208.2M. Net loss for the period decreased 34% to EUR32.3M. Total revenue reflects an increase in demand for the Company's products and services. Lower net loss for the period reflects lower financial expenses, positive exchange difference as well as improved operating margin due to lower depreciation charges and lack of loss on equity in affiliates.
