Lan Airlines S.A. (Lan Airlines) is a passenger airlines company in Latin America and the main cargo operator in the region. The Company provides domestic and international passenger services in Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina. As of March 31, 2009, in the passenger business the Company operated through five main airlines: LAN Airlines, Transporte Aereo S.A. (which does business under the name Lan Express), Lan Peru S.A. (Lan Peru), Aerolane Lineas Aereas Nacionales del Ecuador S.A. (Lan Ecuador), and Lan Argentina S.A. (Lan Argentina, previously Aero 2000 S.A.). its cargo operations are carried out by a number of companies, including Lan Airlines and Lan Cargo, and are complemented by the operations of certain related companies, such as Aero Transportes Mas de Carga S.A. de C.V. (MasAir), in Mexico, Aerolinhas Brasileiras S.A. (ABSA), in Brazil and Linea Aerea Carguera de Colombia S.A. (LANCO), in Colombia.
