Mexichem SAB de CV is a Mexico-based company primarily engaged in the production of chemical, resin and plastic items. The Company operates three main production chains, such as Chlorine-Vinyl Chain, Compounds Chain and Fluorine Chain, as well as Fluid Conduction Unit. Chlorine-Vinyl chain is dedicated to the extraction of sodium chlorine brine. Compounds Chain is engaged in the production of PVC, ophthalmic and styrene products. Fluorine Chain is focused on the extraction of fluorine and its transformation into various products. Fluid Conduction chain operates through the Company’s subsidiary Mexichem Amanco Holding SA de CV. BRIEF: For the three months ended 31 March 2009, MEXICHEM SAB de CV's total revenue increased 10% to PS7.74B. Net income decreased 9% to PS400.4M. Total revenue reflects an increase in demand for the Company's products and services. Net income for the period was offset by an increase in administrative/general expenses and profit sharing as well as by a decrease in equity in earnings and interest income.
