Norsk Hydro ASA (Hydro) is a Norway-based supplier of casthouse products, such as extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, wire rod and foundry alloys. The products can be applied within such sectors as building, packaging, lithographic and automotive markets. The Company operates within three principal business areas: the Aluminum Metal, the Aluminum Products and the Energy. The Aluminum Metal activities include the production of bauxite and alumina, primary aluminum, remelting of metal, and the international trading of aluminum and aluminum products. Aluminium Products comprises the downstream activities. The main activities include rolled products, extrusion and building systems. The Energy area is responsible for the external sourcing of energy to Hydro’s worldwide aluminum operations, and the operation of Hydro’s power stations in Norway. Energy includes Hydro’s commercial operations in the power markets. In July 2009, Hydro acquired the French company, Solarys Systeme.
