BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, Nelnet Inc.'s interest income decreased 48% to $338.2M. Net interest income after loan loss provision decreased 11% to $70.1M. Net income totaled $33.7M vs. a loss of $26.1M. Net interest income reflects a decrease in loan interest, was partiall offset by an increase in loan loss provision. Net income was offset by a decrease in advertising &marketing expense and absence of impairment expense.
