Orleans Energy Ltd. (Orleans) is an Alberta-based crude oil and natural gas company. The Company is engaged in the exploration for, development and production of natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs) reserves within the province of Alberta, Canada. As of December 31, 2008, the Company’s production weighted approximately 80% natural gas and 20% light oil and NGLs. The Company’s Alberta-based production is derived from five core producing areas throughout Central Alberta (Gilby and Halkirk/Leo), West Central Alberta (Kaybob and Pine Creek) and the Peace River Arch (Gordondale). During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company’s natural gas production averaged 20,199 thousand cubic feet per day (Mcf/d) and crude oil and NGLs production averaged 821 barrels per day (bbls/d). The Company has drilled 16 wells (13.8 net) targeting primarily natural gas reservoirs as of December 31, 2008.
