Orsu Metals Corporation, formerly European Minerals Corporation, is a precious and base metal mining, production, exploration and development company which, through its various subsidiaries operates the Varvarinskoye open pit gold-copper mine in the Urals belt in northern Kazakhstan (Varvarinskoye) and exploring advanced copper-gold deposits in the Tien Shan gold belt in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Rudny Altai copper belt in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Varvarinskoye is located. The Taldybulak copper-gold porphyry deposit is the primary exploration property within the Taldybulak-Talas license, which comprises core assets of the Company in Kyrgyzstan, including the Taldybulak, Kentash, Barkol and Korgontash licenses. In November 2009, JSC Polymetal completed the acquisition of a 100% interest in the Varvarinskoye Gold-Copper Mine in Kazakhstan from Orsu Metals Corporation.
