Collective Brands, Inc. (Collective Brands), formerly known as Payless ShoeSource, Inc., is the holding company for Payless ShoeSource, Inc. (Payless), The Stride Rite Corporation (Stride Rite), and Collective Licensing LP (Collective Licensing). Payless is a footwear specialty retailers in the Western Hemisphere. Stride Rite markets brand of children’s shoes in the United States, as well as products for children and adults under brand names, including Stride Rite, Robeez, Sperry Top-Sider, Saucony and Keds. Collective Licensing is a lifestyle marketing and global licensing business. The Company operates business in four reporting segments: Payless Domestic, Payless International, Stride Rite Retail and Stride Rite Wholesale.

BRIEF: For the twenty six weeks ended 1 August 2009, Collective Brands Inc.'s revenues decreased 8% to $1.7B. Net income from continuing operations totaled $56M, up from $27.9M. Revenues reflect a decline in income from payless domestic segment and a lower income from payless international segment. Net income was offset by decreased cost of sales, lower selling, general & administrative expenses and the absence of restructuring charges.
