On September 19, 2008, Reed Elsevier plc acquired ChoicePoint Inc.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, Reed Elsevier Plc's revenues increased 25% to £1.62B. Net income from continuing operations decreased 45% to £85M. Revenues reflect an increase in sales from the LexisNexis and Elsevier Business divisions. Net income was offset by increased cost of sales, higher selling costs, increased administrative expenses, higher interest expense and lower gain on disposal & other non operating items.
